Apparently, Piers Morgan is finally, FINALLY, beginning to realize the gravity of the situation we find ourselves mired in. I would usually say “credit where credit is due”, but I wont. I won’t because there is no excuse whatsoever for making statements like this – ‘Don’t be ridiculous! Your government won’t turn itself on you’. There’s no excuse for anybody with access to the internet, a public library, or even a vague common sense understanding of present and past world events to make a statement this ignorant. NONE. And Piers is an “educated” man. And by that I mean he has over a decade of public schooling under his belt. The man is a living case study on the difference between “education” and real knowledge. And I’m sorry, but this admission is so infuriating that I cant help but use “bad” language – this a fucking travesty. Why am I so angry? Because it’s not just Piers spewing this ignorance. Because too many folks buy into these vapid, mindless, arguments. Because good, upstanding, intelligent, men and women have been warning of this very thing for decades. Centuries even. And these good men and women have been derided, ostracized, and marginalized as kooks, quacks, and fringe lunatics – Ron Paul and Andrew Napolitano being the most visible of many recent examples. Truth – relegated to the wilderness. Now here we are, living under the most powerful government in history – a government “bordering” on the tyrannical according to Piers Morgan. And if Piers considers it borderline tyranny, you can bet your ass that the reality is much, much worse. If only we’d listened. If only we’d cease voting for the lesser of two evils. If only we’d demand accountability from our “public servants”, regardless of which political party the criminals affiliated themselves with. If only we’d demanded nothing more from the government but the protection of our freedoms, which used to be enough. If only we had principals. If only…
It’s good folks are starting to wake up. But are we waking up fast enough and in sufficient numbers to stem the dismal tide in time? Or is it already too late? Time will tell.
I’ve said it before – Like Keynesian economic policy, the so-called bliss of ignorance only holds true in the short term. In the long term, however, ignorance is slavery.
I’ve had some of the pro-gun lobbyists on here, saying to me, ‘Well, the reason we need to be armed is because of tyranny from our own government,’ and I’ve always laughed at them,” Morgan said. “I said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous! Your government won’t turn itself on you. “But, actually, this is vaguely tyrannical behavior by the American government.” He continued, “I think what the IRS did is bordering on tyrannical behavior. I think what the Department of Justice has done to the AP is bordering on tyrannical behavior.” Jillette agreed with Morgan, stating, “There’s no doubt about that. Once you use the word ‘bordering,’ that’s true. “I also think that it shows you that how much we can trust the government and just sit back– which is not very much at all. We have to be ever vigilant.”
